Changes to the Administrator Guide
The following changes to the Administrator's Guide have been introduced in ChangeGear 8.4.
New Features and Enhancements
Web Admin Portal
- Repository Management
The Repository Maintenance section in the Desktop Client is no longer available. The functionality is now available in Web Administration and the existing configuration is automatically transferred to newer entities on the upgrade. - Holiday Schedule
Holiday Schedules can now be created and updated from within Web Administration.
Integrations
- Serviceaide Automation Orchestrator
TheChangeGear is now integrated with Luma Automation, the Saas solution that allows for the automation of manual business processes. This enhancement facilitates the orchestration of these tasks in a workflow, increasing efficiency and reliability.
Luma Machine Learning Platform (formerly Willow)
- Updates to Web Admin and Documentation
References to Willow in the Web Administration portal and product documentation are now updated to reference Luma ML.
Asset Discovery Expert
- Cloud Asset Discovery
Comprehensive and accurate inventory of assets is crucial and necessary in today's digital and hybrid environment. Whether IT assets live on-premises or in the cloud, it is important to have a single, unified view into the network and to continuously track, monitor, and update changes and status. To accomplish this, the Asset Discovery Expert (ADE) now provides the capability to discover cloud assets in Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Asset Discovery Tool
- Import Credentials from External Password Tools for use in Discovery
Asset discovery requires many types of credentials (SNMP, Domain, SSH...) to run discovery across domains and isolated networks to collect details of the discovered assets. Using a custom PowerShell script or command line program, these credentials can now be retrieved from an external password or credential management tool in compliance with security best practices.
Other Enhancments
- Performance Improvements
ChangeGear Multiple performance enhancements have improved ChangeGear's responsiveness. This includes how roles and permissions are stored and accessed, the responsiveness of ChangeGear's REST API calls, and reduced session state overhead.
