Integrating with Microsoft Outlook
Several components of ChangeGear can leverage Microsoft Exchange integration to display information about your Outlook calendar events. For example, the SmartHub uses calendar integration to display events and upcoming reminders.
Note: Your ChangeGear administrator must configure ChangeGear to connect to an Exchange server before you can integrate your calendar.
In order to integrate with Microsoft Outlook, your ChangeGear account must be configured with your Exchange e-mail address. You can verify your e-mail address in ChangeGear by opening your User Profile page and checking the E-mail field. If the field does not contain the correct e-mail address, please contact your ChangeGear administrator for assistance.
Configuring Delegates
In order for your Outlook events to appear in ChangeGear, you need to delegate access to your Exchange account to the account used by ChangeGear. Delegating your account allows ChangeGear to access your calendar events, meetings, tasks, and reminders. By default, delegates can only read meetings and events. Delegates also cannot read e-mail messages in your inbox other than meeting requests and responses, unless you choose to grant them more access.
To add ChangeGear as a delegate:
-
Request the name of the account used to integrate Exchange with ChangeGear from your ChangeGear administrator.
-
Open Microsoft Outlook. The following example uses Outlook 2013.
-
Click File to open the File Menu.
-
Click the Account Settings drop-down, then click Delegate Access. The Delegates dialog opens.
-
Click the Add... button to open the Add Users dialog box.
-
Enter or search for the name of the ChangeGear account you received in step 1 and click Add - >.
-
Click OK to close the Add Users dialog box.
-
Select the permissions that will be available to ChangeGear. By default, ChangeGear will have permission to read and modify your calendar events and tasks. Click OK when you are done.
-
Click OK to close the Delegates dialog.
