Working with States

A state is a stage in the behavior of an item or ticket in ChangeGear. States have four types - Start, Process, Approval, and End.

• Start states have no inbound connections, while End states have no target connections.

• Process states have both inbound and outbound/target connections.

• Approval states are a special type of state that must have outgoing states attached to Approve and Reject, and can have approval groups assigned to them.

State view

The State view displays the list of states in the workflow and provides options related to that state. You can create and edit states and configure actions and transitions in this view.

State Properties

Clicking a state reveals the State Properties, which allow you to define state display names, state types, and action buttons, and more.
